Massive German nail polish haul! (And some Madonna, too!)

Hi everyone and greetings from Germany! My trip to Berlin was AWESOME and I'm already itching to go back there! In total, I bought 112 polishes, all of which you can see above (click HERE to zoom in!)! Most importantly, we saw Madonna on the 28th of June (my third M tour and my fourth time of seeing her live, the fifth time will be in Helsinki on 12th of August) on her MDNA world tour and we were quite close to the catwalk this time with maybe 5 meters separating us from her! Oh, and I also wore my Gina Tricot nail polish paillette shirt to the concert!

On the subject of nail polish on dogs

Onni & Hiski, my beloved poodle boys and fur babies, and...

While I was away on a holiday in Berlin, several people commented on Onni's so-called disco nails, nearly calling me out as a torturer of my beautiful boys and an enemy of animals as a whole just because I happen to paint my poodle's nails once a year with regular nail polish. Now, I am not offended by these ill-founded, exaggerated comments about any unethical treatment of animals in my household ("They are not dolls!! She ought to grow up!" ...Oh please...!), but I did shake my head in disbelief over some of them. Do these people really believe that I'd ever mistreat my fur babies in any way?! Onni (whose name means "happiness", "luck" or "fortune" BTW) loves the attention people give him whether he's wearing nail polish or not. I also laughed a little at "animals ought not to wear clothes" - am I supposed to throw away their raincoats and overalls which I make them wear when it's close to -20 degrees Celsius during the winter? ...You ill-informed people, please! The only harmful substances in nail polish are the solvents that vaporize in some thirty seconds after I apply it to Onni's nails, the rest is composed of just pigments, cellulose and bonding agents. And no, he does not gnaw at or bite his nails, and yes, it does depend on a) the breed and b) on the individual among that breed just what nail lenght is acceptable on them. I love my fur babies and I would do anything for them - and you better believe it! *rant over*

Hello Berlin! aka rhinestone explosion

I'm off to Berlin in the morning, but before that I want to show you my special mani I did for the occasion. The base on all the fingers (apart from the ring fingers) consists of Sally Hansen Platinum Chrome, Gallery Colours Silver Sparkle and Nubar Hologram Glitter, one coat of each. The symbols I did are a heart, M, a rainbow, the German flag, D, N, the Finnish flag, another rainbow, A and a cocktail glass. Why MDNA? Because it's the title of Madonna's latest album and the name of her current world tour which I'll be attending with a friend! ♥ ♥ ♥

Onni the poodle's disco nails

Nubar Hologram Glitter, 1 coat

Even the poodles in my household get subjected to glittery nail polish... Okay, so Onni does not mind a bit if I polish his nails once per year - he just sits there, facing me and is totally still while I paint his nails. I always start with a coat of Orly Bonder, then a coat of the densest, fastest drying glitter that I can find, and finish it off with a coat of Nubar Diamont. All of this takes just 10 minutes, and Onni barely bats an eye at me. Afterwards he is showered with nom-noms for having been such a good boy. He does not try to lick off the polish, nor does he gnaw at his nails - if he did, I would stop painting them.

OMG y'all girly girls.......!!!

Yesterday, I got a great tip from Minttu AKA Sonne from Sonnela about a nail polish shirt to die for...!! Now, paillettes are usually not my thing, but the photo she posted [edit: um, if the link forwards you to some random post of mine, just click here and scroll ALL the way down... I don't know what happened here... darn Blogger] made me hop onto the bus today and head for my nearest Gina Tricot store here in Tampere. Sure enough, this whole rack was filled with these gorgeous magenta coloured nail polish T-shirts with a generous 75% sale tag on them, so I grabbed one of my size and headed for the cashiers desk. I'm still all like... "holy crap - did I just pay only 5€ for this shirt?!" :D

BTW, I SOOO want to buy this for myself - Pantheon Black. My old PC is 4½ years old and the Chrimbo money I got is burning a hole in my pocket...!

Season's greetings from us to you! We were supposed to travel to northern Finland to spend the holidays with my grandfather, but I came down with a cold and as my mum fears others will catch it from me (mainly my grandfather who is 86) our travel plans came to a halt. It's only the third time ever for me that I won't be spending Christmas there with my mum and dad... :< I'm not especially fond of Christmas or any other holiday but it feels very strange to be spending it at home.
